Is Conception Possible When Antimullerian Hormone Level Indicates 0.81ng/ml?

default
Posted on Tue, 29 Dec 2015
Question: Im 28 years old with an anti mullerian level of 0.81ng/ml. My FSH levels each month are between 4 and 5. I have a regular period of every 28 days to 36 days, And all other hormone levels when checked have suggested that I've ovulated that cycle. What does my AMH level indicate? Will I be able to conceive naturally and will IVF be an option for me?

Brief Answer:
AMH is low

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I understand your concerns about low ovarian reserve.

Following is my reply :

1) Though the ovarian reserve is low as per low AMH values, surprisingly FSH is normal.

2) I suggest You get Antral Follicle Count (AFC) test done by transvaginal ultrasound scan to see if there good no. of follicles or less number. This will state the possibility of AMH levels by checking no. of follicles and ovarian reserve and then correlate with AMH.

3) it is possible that AMH could be wrong.

4) You need IVF only if ultrasound scan is really abnormal with reduced ovarian reserve.

5) TVS ultrasound scan is only way to predict ovarian reserve accurately as of now.
