Is Blister On Upper Lip A Sign Of Herpes Simplex?

Question: Hi I have just had a bout of what must be herpes simplex. I had a blister on my upper lip. When I popped it some clear liquid came out. It seems to have infected a larger portion of my mouth, and I'm concerned it might turn red as im seeing a dark colour alread. How do I prevent my lips turning bring red.

Thank you for query.I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
If the diagnosis of herpes is sure, and it is first appearence, it tends to have vesicles or water filled lesions.It will come as grouped lesions and may have redness with pain or burning or itching symptoms.You may need oral antiviral like acyclovir.
If not herpes can be due to any simple bacterial infection.If so you can continue topical fucidin.
So you can send clear photos of the lesion for clarification.
You can take antiinflammatory analgesic like brufen.
You can get back for any clarification with clear photos and details.
