Brief Answer:
uti

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
If the pain in the abdomen on one side of pelvis is in the mid cycle then it is likely to be due to ovulation. As UTI was diagnosed once and it should have been treated for at least 7 days and as the symptoms have recurred it is likely that you have had a recurrence of uTI. You may have to start on antibiotics again.
Please get a repeat urine culture done to reaffirm the diagnosis.

Would ovulation make the transvaginal ultrasound painful in that area when i was having it done it was pretty painful in the area i was having pain in the left side

Brief Answer:
ovulation pain is called mittelschmertz

Detailed Answer:
If the TVS was done in the mid cycle and the pain was limited to only one side then yes ovulation and stretch of ovarian capsule per se and also the ovarian ligament could have caused pain in the left pelvic region during the TVS procedure. If endometritis has been ruled out and PID is also not a diagnosis then mid cycle pain is known as mittelschmertz and characteristic of ovulation.
The pain during the end of the cycle , few days prior and often during the cycles are a part of premenstrual syndrome complex though and are often considered normal and can be managed symptomatically. Treatment should be sought if menses have been irregular or painful all throughout the days of menstruation. Though the gold standard to rule out endometriosis is diagnostic laparoscopy but ULTRASOUND is fairly sensitive.
If the symptoms persist then the next step would be to get a high vaginal swab culture to look for any constant and persistent infection.

I had the tests done the 2nd and started my period on the 7th so would that make since in the time frame of ovulation i always get bloating and cramps a couple days before my period then the first two days of it then it goes away for the rest of my period

Brief Answer:
No, 2nd was not ovulation time.

Detailed Answer:
As the TVS was done 5 days prior to your menses then it was not ovulation pain at all but in fact a part of progesterone withdrawal symptoms as seen during PMS. The pain on the left side then possibly can be due to endometriosis implants over the periotoneum which cannot be identified on ultrasound and the best mode would be laparoscopy.
however it is suggested that as endometriosis is suspected and if pregnancy is not a concern as of now, then you can be placed on progesterone only pills like CERAZETTE tabs continuously for atleast 3 months and the symptoms can be reviewed after the treatment. The progesterone would often cause amenorrhoea and decrease in the endometriosis.
you may discuss the option with your gynecologist and take an informed decision.
