Is Metformin Safe For Gestational Diabetes During Pregnancy?

Question: Hello I am 30 weeks pregnant diagnosed with gestational diabeties... i am on 600 mg myoinositol and 500 mg metformin once a day. Is this treatment safe.

As far as treatment for gestational diabetes is concerned you are on accepted medicine.
It can be safely used in pregnancy.

Along with medicines Diet & exercise are also important.
But it should be strictly according to your treating diabetologist.

Good control of blood sugar levels with frequent blood sugar monitoring is important.

Yes it is safe.

Myoinositol helps in reducing insulin resistance. Usually used in Polycystic ovarian disease, diabetes. It's use is considered as safe in pregnancy.

There is no clinical evidence suggesting any ill effect of these medicine in pregnancy (including on amniotic fluid level).
So don't worry about use of metformin & myoinositol.
