Is Cymbalta A Safe Drug To Be Taken For A Prolonged Period?

default
Posted on Wed, 16 Apr 2014
Question: I just got an answer about stopping Cymbalta 120 mgs per day and switching to Mirtazapine 30MG. The answer was good. The doctor said that I will have feelings of being spaced out and numb and also sleep distrubances and anxiety, but I do not think I am going to be able to handle this for 2-3 weeks. Is Cymbalta 120 mgs per safe to take for the rest of my life! The reason why I wanted to stop Cymbalta was because it has sexual side affects, but I can live with them if I have too as long as Cymbalta is safe to take for the rest of my life and is my dosage ok for thr rest of my life! I also take omeprazole, bisoprolol, hydrochlorothiazide, alprazolam, clonazepam.ARe these ok to take. I was told by my Psychiatrist that omeprazole with duloxextine is XXXXXXX So then I will switch to another anti acidMed.

Brief Answer: It is a safe medication Detailed Answer: Hello Thanks for the further questioning on the issue. Yes, cymbalta is a safe drug and can be taken for a long time. The dose of 120 mg is also fine. The issue comes only when you have to come off it. It has to be done very gradually other wise you will end up cold XXXXXXX The sexual side-effects that you had with cymbalta can be minimized with taking cyproheptadine. It counters the sexual side-effects of SSRI and cymbalta. Further your psychiatrist was right in stating that omeprazole interacts with duloxetine. It would be wise to take anti-acid like ranitidine 150 mg twice a day. Hope I am able to answer your concerns. If you have any further query, I would be glad to help you. If not, you may close the discussion and if possible you may rate the answer for me, so that I get a good feedback.
