Is ALT Value Of 41 A Cause For Concern?
Question: my recent PE had my ALT at 41.....seems should be below 40 ..?

I am so sorry to hear about this somewhat above the normal range ALT that has gotten you all frightened. These test are carried out by machines and 41 is not very different from 40 in the strictest sense of it. This is on the upper side of the normal range but raises no concerns or issues. We are often concerned when both AST and ALT are elevated or a single elevation is well above the upper range. There is nothing to worry about and all other doctors will tell you same. Be calm and relaxed and do not freak out.
