Brief Answer: Iron deficiency anemia and dyslipidemia is seen. Detailed Answer: Hi, Thanks for your response. I have read your reports. They indicate following :- 1. Iron deficiency anemia leading to low hemoglobin. 2. Dyslipidemia ( high cholesterol and LDL levels ). Since you have not mentioned any allergic symptoms and your Eosinophil count of 6% which is on the higher side along with low hemoglobin level, possibility of intestinal worms cannot be ruled out. I would start you on deworming pill like Albendazole 400 mg at night for three consecutive nights. Discuss with your treating doctor. Besides this, I would suggest that you should eat foods rich in iron like pomegranate, jaggery, green leafy vegetables. Iron supplement along with Folic acid and Methylcobalamin can be taken once a day for about a month. ( Black stool along with abdominal discomfort can be seen with iron supplements). You should use refined oil as your cooking medium for control of your cholesterol and LDL levels. Avoid oily foods and use of 'desi ghee'. Regular exercise helps in controlling dyslipidemia. You can also discuss about starting Atorvastatin 5 mg at night for better control. You should also drink lots of water daily to prevent urinary tract infection. For acidity that you have mentioned in your earlier post, I would advise that you should take an antacid like Omeprazole 40mg once a day before meals along with avoiding spicy foods. Try these under your doctor's guidance. I hope this is helpful to you. If you have any further query, I will be happy to help. Wishing you good health. Thanks.
