The risk is increased if you are older, already have kidney disease, or if you have a severe loss of body water (dehydration). Your risk is also increased if you receive high doses, or with longer use of this medication. Tell your doctor immediately if you notice ringing/roaring sounds in the ears, hearing loss, dizziness, or an unusual decrease in the amount of your urine. Careful monitoring by your doctor will reduce the risk of these side effects. Monitoring may include hearing, kidney, urine, and drug blood level tests. Brief Answer: Ensure hydration, recovery is the rule Detailed Answer: Hi XXXX Welcome to healthcare Magic! The drug you have taken by injection is an antibiotic of aminoglycoside group. The information you have mentioned is correct for this drug. It is not so that a patient will have all the adverse affects rather these are side effects as a result of long term use. It is unlikely to result from a single shot. You had immediate reaction so it may be a remnants of that. You must keep a note of this and avoid further exposure. Take lots of liquids to reduce the toxicity. As a rule such reactions resolve fully only with rigorous hydration. I hope the advise would be informative and useful for you. Take Care!
