Brief Answer:
IBS vs. pancreatitis

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for contacting HCM with your health care concerns

YOu are wondering how to tell the difference between IBS pain and pancreatitis. The main difference is that pancreatitis is the worst pain ever. IBS pain does not compare at all to pancreatitis. Also the pain is mid and will radiate straight through to your back. Any movement will aggravate the pain. Even driving in a car or walking makes the pain worse. Also with pancreatitis it is usually seen with people who have alcoholism, gallbladder stones or super high triglycerides.

IBS pain is cramping general everywhere in the belly. Can radiate into the rectal area. Usually associated with diarrhea or constipation.
