How Long Will Withdrawal Symptoms Continue After Discontinuing Zoloft?
Question: Hi, I stopped taking my Zoloft. Friday evening was last dose. I was told because I had only taken it 5 days, 3 days at 25 mg for 3 days and 2 days at 50 that my brain receptors have adjusted to it yet and I would not have any withdraws. My question is how long does the anxiety, no appetite and insomnia last after stopping the meds?

I read your question and i understand your concern. Zoloft has been used in low dosages of 25 and 50 for a few days only and wont cause any withdrawal symptoms. As far as this anxiety and insomnia is concerned it may not be the adverse effect of zoloft as zoloft is indicated for anxiety disorder. However if anxiety is attributed to zoloft it should not be there after a couple of days it should be completely out of your system. Say you took last dose on friday, today is monday, so it has been 48 hours , more than half of drug is almost completely out of your system considering half life of 26 hours of zoloft. Wait and see for a day or two more and if these symptoms persist talk to your doctor as those are not from zoloft.
