Have Abnormal Periods Like Spotting And Then Normal Flow. Had Abnormal Cells On Uterus And HPV Virus. Suggest?
Question: Hi I'm a 26 yr old female, I have two daughters one is 6, and the other is 10months and I've had normal periods since my last daughter was born but these last few months have been weird, I spot and then after 3 days its starts a semi normal flow. I saw a dr and she said about 4 years ago I had abnormal cells on my uterus and had the hpv virus and I'm scared to go back for fear what she will find, any advice?

I heard that I may get a biopsy which can be painful is that required to check the abnormal cells ?

The initial screening test (Pap smear) is not painful at all. Based on the results the gynecologist may need to take a colposcopic guided biopsy (biopsy under magnification), which is not painful also (just a feeling of discomfort).
