Question: I have had a faint feeling for weeks, doctor did blood tests..first test blood sugar high..also had high blood pressure that day ( I have always had very low pressure) so this concerned me..I returned next day for more blood work and hormone tests...these labs all came back normal..I had an Ablation 14 years ago for Wolf-Parkinson-White..have really had no major issues since with heart (leaky valve and tachycardia(very mild)....I have a bad back and neck so I am on Fentanyl 50 mcg every 48 hours..I have been on this for 5 years ..my doctor had me on anti depressants and they only worsened my condition fatigue was even worse..so we tried several types over last 9 months...I am no longer on any and feel more like myself that I have for a long time...I feel week..fuzzy head and I have had a low grade fever for weeks.....I am also nauseated especially after I eat..I get the sweats one minute and am freezing the next..if I sit down for any length of time I am asleep although it feels more like I am passing out...please help..I have had enough bad health...the only med I am on is the fentanyl...I have had constipation for years ..I have gained 40lbs over the last 9months but I believe this may have been from the antidepressants..while on them I craved sugar non-stop..now that I am off I no longer have cravings.. I guess thats it ..i have had bad health for a long time so I don't no what symptoms are relavent...even if you could tell me what tests to ask for I would be grateful...I will be 40 in January..gall bladder is out..tubes tied....head feels light headed foggy...also cannot eat a full meal ..stomach always seems bloated?.. Hi,
Thank you for contacting Healthcare magic.
I can understand your discomfort on account of health issues not getting sorted out.
For your current symptoms, following would be useful:
1. Check your BP for a postural fall- check BP in lying down and standing positions. On standing BP should not drop by more than 10-20 mmHg.
2. Hemoglobin should be checked (if not already)
3. Serum vitamin B12 and vitamin D levels should be checked.
4. Thyroid profile should be checked.
5. I assume heart functions are normal as you have mentioned. Low cardiac output can lead to similar symptoms as you have described. If not done, an echocardiogram may be helpful.
I hope it helps. Please get back if you have any more queries.
Best wishes,
Dr Sudhir Kumar MD (Internal Medicine) DM (Neurology)
