Does Vaginal Bleeding And Cyst In Ovaries Indicative Of Cancer?

default
Posted on Mon, 30 Mar 2015
Question: Hi, my 28 y/o daughter had vaginal hemorrhage resulting in d&c, 4 blood transfusions and hospitalization. Cysts were found on both ovaries. Left ovary surrounded by mass and left fallopian tube blocked. Is it probable this is cancer? She was told by OBGYN when she was pregnant 5 years ago that she had pre-cancerous cells but did not follow through w/further testing.

Brief Answer:
This is unlikely to be cancer

Detailed Answer:
Hello

I understand your concerns about possibility of cancer.

Let me reassure you that this is not cancer. You most likely had increased endometrial thickness leading to hemorrhage which needed D&C and blood transfusion. Was a histopathology test done after D & C? If yes, Please try to send me histopathology report of D&C so that I analyze the report so as to why there was increased endometrial thickness.

Ovary cyst with tubal block could be a separate entity. This needs to be evaluated by laparoscopic removal of the cyst.

There is no possibility of cancer. Don't worry about it.

Let me know if you need any more clarifications.
