Brief Answer:
Chlamydia can better be treated to avoid complications.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to HCM.
Chlamydia antibodies could be due to STD or non STD causes. If you are sexually promiscuous, possibility of genital Chlamydial infections are more. There is every possibility for this infection could be transmitted to your sexual partners.
Late complications could occur for you and your sexual partners. Prostatitis, Epididymitis and block in reproductive passage(for you), Pelvic inflammatory infection, tubal block (for your female partners) lead to infertility for both and ectopic gestation with your partners. So it is better treat the same with a course of antibiotics.

hi dr thanks for the reply. i was reading up another post in this website :
http://www.yyyyyyyyy.com/yyyyyyyyyyyyy/What-does-yyyyyyyyy-igg-13-mean/111728

it basically mentioned not to worry about it since it basically means that an antibody has already been built up against it. Im so confused. i do hope you can clear up my confusion. thanks

Brief Answer:
As safety measure, it is better to take treatment for Chlamydia

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back.
Yes, it is partially correct.
Chlamydia IgG positive does not indicate an active infection. It could be either a remnance of a past infection or an active infection.
We have to be cautious to avoid permanent future damages.
So it is better to have a treatment rather than ignore the same.
