Brief Answer:
FOLLOW THE ADVICES AS GIVEN BELOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for writing to us. Followings are my comments:

1) Common cold & throat infection (bacterial or viral) including sneeze, runny nose etc may be due to seasonal changes or contact with allergen and dust particles.

Safe antibiotic like Cephalexin, Combined Amoxicillin & Cloxacillin etc along with Anti-histamine drug like Levocetirizine can be given to treat throat infection and common cold. Above medicines (Nasal Spray and RELENT tab) are quite SAFE in pregnancy and you can continue them.

2) In addition, you must maintain oral hygiene to avoid repeated infection. You can use HEXIDINE mouth wash regularly and brush your teeth 3 to 4 times daily or after taking foods each time.

Some basic home remedies can improve your condition and prevent recurrence:

a) Drink plenty of water or fruit juice to stay hydrated and keep throat moist.

b) Inhale steam or use saline nasal spray to ease nasal congestion and drippy nose.

c) Stay away from household dust, pollens, powders, droplets, smoke, allergen substances etc.

d) Take one teaspoon honey & tulsi juice in the morning or hot drink like milk at bed time is quite helpful.

e) Take hot shower bath, sleep with an extra pillow under head and vitamin-C supplements are very much essential.

3) Common cold & cough are mostly MATERNAL problem and should be treated properly. Usually, it is NOT harmful to growing baby. However, TORCH infection should be ruled out to avoid fetal transmission.

4) First trimester is MOST vulnerable for miscarriage. At this stage, chance is quite LOW if your cough DOESN'T create much abdominal pressure.

5) SUSTEN is a natural micronized progesterone which helps to support your pregnancy and prevents possible miscarriage in early weeks. It is quite SAFE during pregnancy.

Hope, it helps for your information. Kindly, close the discussion if you don't have any other query.

Wish your good health and successful motherhood.

Dr Soumen

Brief Answer:
POSSIBILITY OF CERVICAL OPENING IS QUITE LOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for follow up query.

1) At this stage, possibility of cervical opening is quite LOW due to bronchitis or moderate cough. Severe cough can create much abdominal pressure and may lead to miscarriage.

2) Abdominal cramp and vaginal bleeding are two important sign of miscarriage. Kindly, consult with your doctor for proper management of the case.

Hope, I have answered your query. Kindly, close the discussion.

All the best and good luck.

Brief Answer:
DETAILS ARE GIVEN BELOW.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thanks for query.

Pregnancy Category C : Animal reproduction studies have shown an adverse effect on the fetus and there are NO adequate and well-controlled studies in humans, but potential benefits may warrant use of the drug among pregnant women despite potential risks.

Therefore, it can be taken in recommended dose as prescribed by your doctor. You wouldn't be worried about that.

Hope, it helps for you. You can close the discussion.
