Posted on Tue, 3 Oct 2017
Question: I am taking carvedilol 6.25 mg twice a day and lisinopril 10 mg once a day plus colchicine 0.6 mg
I have developed severe thick congestion and feel like I am choking.
This happened years ago with a rx called Mavik (Trandolapril).
Please, should I discontinue these meds ?

Brief Answer:
only medicine that can affect the throat out of these is lisinopril,

Detailed Answer:
Hi the only medicine that can affect the throat out of these is lisinopril, that can cause a dry cough, but not congestion.
I do not think you should discontinue anything.
Congestion may be due to allergy/infection.
Try a cough syrup with bromhexine and guaphenesin. 2 tsp three times. If this does not help, do see your doctor.
