Brief Answer: neither of it contain blood ,BUT CONTAINS IRON.... Detailed Answer: Hello, Welcome to Healthcare Magic, Neither Iron Dextron nor Iron sucrose are made up of blood particles. They are just complexes of iron salts for better delivery in to the targets in our body. Iron sucrose is widely used beacause of its better tolerability and very few side effects. But either of it are not an replacement for blood transfusion. In patients with severe anemia ,it is advisable to do blood transfusion only. But in cases like haemoglobin 7-10 gms you can go with Iron sucrose inj. Iron is an important element for the haemoglobin synthesis. so the main indication for Iron preperations is Iron deficiency anaemias. hope i have cleared your doubt, regards DR.VENKAT
