Question: Dear, I went to a private doctor about half a month ago, and later I was diagnosed with anxiety. The doctor prescribed the following medicines 1. LEXAPRO 5MG (AFTER DINNER) 2. A-MIRTAZAPINE 15MG (AFTER DINNER, 1/4 PCS) 3. ALPRAZOLAM 0.25MG (3 Times per day)   At the beginning of the first week, I felt very tired in the morning. Two medicines eat after dinner at 7 pm and go to bed at around 10:30 every night. In the first two weeks, I woke up at four in the middle of the night. When I woke up, I was a little nervous, so I couldn't help taking a sedative, relax and then go to sleep. This method lasted about two weeks. Later, in the last few days, because I did not want to get sedatives in the middle of the night, I was afraid of dependence and bad for the liver, and after waking up in the middle of the night, I stopped taking sedatives. Let's go on in a relaxed mood. But when I fall asleep, my body wakes up with uncontrolled vibration. I soon fell asleep again, but my body vibrated and twitched to wake myself up. If so, every time I fall asleep, sometimes my hand twitches, and sometimes body twitches, and I wake myself up. Because I did n’t have to go to work today, I slept very relaxed last night, but at about six o'clock I felt very relaxed and tired, and soon fell asleep, but when I fell asleep again, my hands or body twitched and woke up. Repeat this. would like to ask. Is this the consequence of dependence taking sedatives in the middle of the night? Or a drug problem?

Brief Answer:
Dependence may not be evident in this short duration

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome to ask a doctor service,

I have gone through your query in detail and can certainly understand your concern towards your unwanted symptoms.

But, those twichings and vibrations may not be due to withdrawal symptoms as dependence may not be evident in this short course of treatment.

But, I can certainly advise that alprazolam is not the medication of choice for your condition in your whole prescription.

Instead you can take any other safer benzodiazepine like clonazepam for regulation of sleep and anxiety.

Can you let me know your response with the other medications so that I can help you better.

Looking back for your reply.
Thank you.

Thanks for your kindly help. My situation is : The anxiety disorder I just discovered should not be too serious. I used to try to relax myself and still fall asleep. The doctors prescribed me the medicine, and he said it was to adjust serotonin. Eat every night after dinner, usually after taking these two drugs at around eight o'clock every day, there will be a little drowsiness at the beginning. Then when I woke up, I returned to work for a long time and was very tired. About two weeks later, I still feel tired in the morning, but not as strong as before. As far as I know, sedatives are not long-term and addictive. Can these two drugs be taken for a long time? Will it be addictive? One of my anxiety disorders is worrying about my high blood pressure, measuring 155 in the morning and 89 in the morning and 76 in the heartbeat. After taking these two drugs, the pressure was about 132 and the pressure was 82. It is found that the heartbeat will be a bit slower than usual, and the normal heartbeat is about 70. After taking these two medicines for one minute, measure the heartbeat 58 to 60. I worry that if my heartbeat will below 50, is it too slow for me? 1. LEXAPRO 2. A-MIRTAZAPINE That's my situation. Doctor, if you have any suggestions, thank you

Brief Answer:
There is no much effect on blood pressure because of these drugs.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Welcome back,

I have gone through your follow up query in detail and can certainly understand your concern towards change in vitals.

As far as I know, the above medicine may not alter blood pressure and heart rate much.

Infact, there is little possibility because of alprazolam.

So, I would advise you to replace it with other safer benzodiazepines like clonazepam.

Get back to me if any other concerns??

Thank you.
