Hi XXXXXXX

Thanks for your query.

Asthma can be diagnosed mainly clinically with history and some laboratory test is needed to confirm it.

First of all you kindly answer my following queries:
1. Is there any history of asthma in your family?
2. Is there any itching skin lesions?
3. Is there any recurrent episodes of cough, cold and watering from nose?
4. Have you had any known allergy?
5. Is the intensity of cough more in the morning?
6. Is there any morning chest tightness?

If it is a yes to all my above questions or few of the questions, then clinically it can be said you probably have asthma.

But you need pulmonary function testing (spirometry) with bronchodilator reversibility to detect any obstructive pattern with reversibility. If it is there then I can tell you that surely you have asthma.

Don’t worry about asthma as it is a well controllable disease. Let me know if you have any other questions.
God bless you.

Regards,
Dr Arnab Maji
