Brief Answer:

Exercise plus diet.

Detailed Answer:

Hi and Welcome!

I have seen your reports and I can see that cholesterol is 299 and LDL 224 but HDL and triglycerides are within normal range .

Before starting drugs as statins I will suggest non-pharmacological measures as advised below.

1. Start morning or evening walk at moderate pace atleast 30 minutes daily.
2. Restrict sweets, dairy products as ice-cream or butter etc.
3. Avoid alcohol and smoking.
4. Avoid fast foods, fried foods, fatty foods.
5. You can practice yoga.

If you are diabetic or have high BP or thyroid problem then please take care of the above.

So please get tested for BP, blood sugar level, and thyroid level if not already done. Also get tested for Blood urea, Serum creatinine, Serum bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT. All these should be within normal limits.

Follow all these measures for 3 months and again get the lipid profile tested . If you do not get normal limits after 3 months then start Atorvastatin at evening.

Again wait for 15 days to check lipid and if lipid still high then increase dosage of Atorvastatin.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further query then you can come back to me.

Brief Answer:

Please get done

Detailed Answer:

Hi!

It is good that you are not diabetic and hypertensive. But I will recommend liver function tests as SGOT, SGPT, serum bilirubin.

These will be most probably in normal range but you should get these done. These are not so expensive tests .

Rest follow diet and exercise plan as I have advised and if no effect in 3 months then drugs as advised.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further query then you can come back to me.

Brief Answer:

Continue dietary restrictions.

Detailed Answer:

Hi,

I have seen your reports. All within normal range in second report.

Just ignore 0.8 indirect bilirubin as normal range is upto 0.7. Just follow the advise I have given you in initial replies.

Hope I have answered your query.
