Can A 40 Year Old Healthy Woman Conceive And Have A Healthy Baby?

Question: Hello mam , I am 40 year old women , mother of 10 year old boy , now we are thinking of our second baby but I am not sure as I think I am too old to have second baby . Mam , please suggest , as we are really confused . My first baby was born normal and me and my husband are fully healthy . Please show me right path . My main concern is that , can I give birth to healthy child as I came to know that babies of 40 plus mothers born with genetic problems . Can this be prevented ?

Yes you can have a healthy baby

Detailed Answer:
since there is no preexisting disease like diabetes high blood pressure etc you may try for a baby. the fertility might be low. Pl do follicle stimulating hormone and anti mullerian hormone on day 2 of period and see your fertility specialist. older women have greater chance of downs baby. u will be tested for this. so best of luck. start folic acid tablets and start trying

if you don't wish to go to gynaecologist then do the blood sugar hemoglobin rubella Igm tests. Pl take folic acid
