Brief Answer:
Yes, this medicines can be take together.

Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Thank you for the query.

There should be no interaction between this two medicines. So this medicines can be used at the same time.
Xanax does not cause stomach problems. However Pantoprazole does. Long usage of pantoprazole can cause bacteria growth in the small intestine. This can lead to diarrhea, stomach pain, loose stools and many more.
If you have such symptoms, you may try Rifaximine treatment to eliminate bacterial infection of small intestine.

Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.

I have a stomach ache all day and then it gets better in the evening. I always
wake up with a stomach ache along with burps, gas and heartburn. Could this
be related to gastritis? I have had this stomach ache for over two years and
the doctors tell me it is due to depression and stress. Should I be taking an
antidepressant. I have tried Zoloft but didn't do anything. I took librax two
years ago. They helped a little better than anything else. Would that be an
option since I have been taking zanax for some time? Thank you for your
answers. I appreciate them and will give you a good review. I am just
feeling miserable all the time and don't know what to do anymore. Why would
the stomach aches go away in the evening and return in the morning. Could it
be that the acid reduces in day time and comes back at night? Would appreciate
an answer as no one else has one.

I forgot to ask you if rifaximine is a prescription medicine?

Answered by Dr. Grzegorz Stanko (6 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Depression has to be treated.

Detailed Answer:
Yes, such symptoms can be caused by gastritis indeed. However peptic ulcer, H.Pylori inflammation can cause it as well. That is why, I suggest you to have gastroscopy done. Without this test, its really hard to tell what is your stomach condition.
Depression and stress can act like a gastritis. If you have really depression, antidepressants are the key for your healthy. Depression is a serious disease and has to be treated. Some have a great reaction to Zoloft, other find it ineffective. But we have great amount of other antidepressants and for sure there is one suitable for you. Xanax is just an anti anxiety medicine. But it works temporally and can not replace real antidepressants. So please try to consult your psychiatrist and discuss it.

Yes, Rifaximine is prescription medicine.
