Can Vigamox Be Used For Ear Infection?

Question: I went to doctor yesterday and he prescribed vigamox for an ear infection. I see it is primarily for eyes.
He did have a coupon, so cost was not too bad. Is this effective?

I have read your query , reviewed your medications and understand your concern.

Vigamox eye drop is effective for an ear infection . Antibiotic eye drop can used for ear infection .

But EAR drop medications should NOT be used in the EYE because preservatives used in eye drop preparations are much gentler than those used in ear drops.

If I were your treating Doctor for this case , I would advice you
Keep ear dry , don’t allow water go inside while bath & don't use any ear bud for itching ear . Use Vigamox eye drop if itching occurs .
