Hello,
Thanks for the query,
For all practical reasons , the gestational age is calculated from the last menstrual period only , so october 24th is your last menstrual period and that should be used for calculation .

If you have had it later then, your ovulation would have been around 7th november, so if you had sex around 7th till 15th november , then chances are that the sex during fertile period is more likely that yje second person may be the father in that case. First intercourse was in the safe period of yours so you were safe then.

Brief Answer:
Ovulation occurs about 14 days before your period date.

Detailed Answer:
Hello again, I am Dr. XXXXXXX D answering your query, I am the internal doctor with healthcaremagic, I saw that you had difficulty understanding our external doctor's answer, hence I have chosen to help you out in his stead.

Thanks for your patience, I will try and make it simpler for you to understand, I hope I will succeed.

Usually each menstrual cycle is around 28 days.

Ovulation occurs 14 days prior to the day you start bleeding.

So if your periods are regular and of 28 days, it means, you will be most fertile and the chances of conception the highest on day 14 and 15 of your cycle (that is, 14 or 15 days after or before you have your period).

This is how it is most people who have a regular menstrual cycle like a clockwork.

Since the ovulation happens around 14 day, and the sperms can survive up to 3 days in the vagina and uterus and the ovum can survive for 2 to 3 days after ovulation, if have intercourse between days 12 to 17, the chances of you conceiving are high.

The probability is 100%, but the chances of conception are high during those days.

Now coming to the specifics of your case.

You had your period on 24 of October, that would mean, you would ovulate on 7th of November.

And you have mentioned that you had intercourse on 29th of October, this would mean the sperms from that encounter would not be alive to fertilize the egg which got released on 7th of November.

So, the father would be the individual you had intercourse with, between 4th of November to 10th of November.

Now coming to counting the days of conception...

Essentially, the conception takes place around the time you ovulate, but for all practical purposes we calculate the period of gestation based on the last menstrual period.

We add 9 Georgian calendar months + 7 days to make it 40 weeks as humans generally have a gestation period of about 40 weeks.

So, your expected date of delivery would be, July 31st 2015.

I hope this answers all your questions.

Thank you for using the service.

Wishing you good health.

Warm regards.

Detailed Answer:
hello,
As the first person claims to have not ejaculated inside you and the sperms have a life of 72 hrs intravaginally , so even if the first person had ejaculated on 29th , you still would have been in your safe period as ovulation would not have occurred by then.
Hence the chances of you having conceived are high with the second person. However the confirmation of paternity can always be done at 13-15 weeks of gestation by performing an amniocentesis procedure and subjecting the foetal cells in the amniotic fluid to DNA analysis for paternity.
I hope i have answered your query in detail,

As the concern is paternity , amniocentesis at 13 to 15 weeks is safe and yes , an obs/gyn would do it under ultrasound guidance.

Im 20 weeks unless ihave to wait until the baby is born

Detailed Answer:
Well, at 20 weeks , amniocentesis may be performed under expert hands if the amniotic fluid index if healthy. But at 20weeks , its not legal for considering abortion or termination if the paternity results are not in your favour, in either case you would have to continue the pregnancy then.

Detailed Answer:
okay safe period is the time from the start of periods till 3 days prior the date at which ovulation occurs. In a 3- day cycle with history of regular menses, ovulation occurs by 15th day of the cycle , so day 1 to day 12 is considered the safe period. 3 days prior is considered simply because ovulation never always occur on time , but near to the mid cycle , hence 3 days consideration is given prior.
