Are Throat Infection, Cough And Fatigue Symptoms Of HIV After Protected Intercourse?
Question: Hi doctor i had protect sex with prostitute.but m worried with that.after 1 week throat infection&cough,fatigue,joint pain.i tested tridot after 1 week then after 50 days i tested combo cmia ag/ab test,elisa they come nagative.but i m worried.after 100 days i tested again tridot they all come nagative.but still m worried.sir wts ur opinion

I understand your concern and situation.
I would like to tell you that rapid test is not conclusive. As 100 days have passed you can take HIV ELISA testing 4 th generation as it is conclusive proof. As per your case I would also like to tell you that acute retroviral syndrome does not occur in 1 week. ARS usually occurs after 2-3 weeks. What you suffered was common viral fever or infection and does not appear to be HIV related. As you had protected intercourse there is no risk. Nothing to worry about and you can take test only for your psychological advantage.
