Teenage problems

Teen-time is a mixed bag, there are hundreds of new aspects of life and living which are to be discovered in this period. Teens are often energetic, thoughtful, and idealistic, with a deep interest in what's fair and right. It is a phase when physical and psychological modulations are underway at a very rapid pace. The biggest advantage of this phase is that at this time one can modulate the mind and body as one wants, because the growth is still on; but it also means that any errors or neglect can lead to a permanent damage.

Teenage problems

Teens are the time when your body needs a whole lot of nutrition to grow and keep up with your increasingly active lifestyle. Schoolwork, hobby classes, friend's birthday party, falling in love, adjusting to a changing image, you see teenagers have a lot on their plate and a good dose of vitamins and minerals is absolutely essential to keep them active and glowing. But alas! teenage also brings with it all the bad eating habits such as love for junk food, the pizza and burger outings, skipped breakfasts, and crash diets. As a smart teenager you can surely make use of the following tips to keep you fit and healthy through your teenage. So here we go with some of the problems that may be bothering you off lately:

Acne

This is without doubt the most common problem during teenage. It's your skin's ways of saying that your hormone levels are going up-and-down. It could also have something to do with your genes and diet. While it is not always possible to point out a single cause for acne, there are some steps you can take to take to keep your skin clearer.

  • Always stay well hydrated by drinking a lot of water
  • Use a gentle face wash that suits your skin type
  • Use a limited number of good quality skin care products
  • Never ever forget to cleanse away dirt and makeup before going to bed
  • Avoid pinching and pricking your pimples

Oily skin

Who wants to look oily and dull? Not you! And not now!  But it is a major challenge to fight the excessive oiliness of your skin during your teen years. However, it is not impossible to look fresh and non-greasy.

  • Have several portions of fresh fruits and enough green vegetables
  • Drink at least eight glasses of water per day
  • Do not wash your face too often or too much. It actually stimulates oil production.
  • Keep some quick fixes handy. A non-comedogenic compact makeup will make you look fresh. Keep tissue handy to wipe away extra oil.
  • Use powder based or gel based makeup. Absolutely avoid oily products.

Excessive Fatigue

You may feel that you are more bored, tired, and sluggish than the children and adults around you. Do not blame yourself for this or worry too much. It is a common phenomenon among teenagers, and it is caused by a mix of poor eating habits, physical changes and emotional turmoil that are often a part of teenage. Take these steps and you will surely see your energy levels go up.

  • Never skip breakfast. Start your day with a bowl of cereals, fruit, and some dairy products of your choice.
  • Once again, remember to drink water. Dehydration is one of the most common causes of fatigue.
  • Its cool to be diet conscious. Take time to make healthy food choices even when you are in a group of friends.
  • Ward off negative thoughts and emotions. Few minutes of meditation, prayer, or even deep breathing will help you feel more relaxed and positive.
  • Do not compromise on sleep. This may sound a bit difficult to do at this stage of life, but if you can manage to get at least 6 hours of sound sleep everday, you will see a clear difference in your energy level.

Indigestion/Acidity

Indigestion and acidity during teenage are mostly related to irregular eating habits and periods of high stress such as exams. You can take some precautions and home remedies to keep these problems at bay:

  • Avoid very spicy or fatty meals when your stress levels are high
  • Avoid excess coffee, chocolate, soft drinks, smoking and alcohol as they aggravate heartburn
  • Chew gum! It is one of the fastest acting home remedies for acidity
  • Mix half spoon baking soda in a glass ful of water and drink to relieve acidity

Constipation

Yet another problem that develops or becomes apparent during teenage is constipation. A haphazard lifestyle, irregular bowel habits, and the wrong kind of food all contribute to constipation. You can get rid of this problem by taking some simple measures:

  • Get enough fiber. The easiest way to do this is to keep your favorite seasonal fruit handy and just have it whenever you feel like.
  • Dont forget your daily dose of water. Its your first step towards good health
  • Go to the toilet everyday at about the same time.
  • Have a glass of water and walk around for a while before going to the toilet every morning
