Born With Syndactyly Toes, More Noticeable In One Leg. What Sort Of Treatment Will Help?

I live in Dallas and was wanting to consult about an issue about one of my feet, I understand a Podiatrist would more than likely be who I should try. I don't have an injury or anything like that, its more of a birth... defect? not sure what it would be categorized as, but I was born with syndactyly toes. One foot more prominent noticeable than the other, and would like to have it treated.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

Syndactyly may be simple (skin webbing only) or complex (skin webbing and bony fusion).

Surgery is the only way of management for syndactalyzed toes. This is by way of complex incisions and releases followed by full thickness skin grafting.

If the bones are also fused in the process of syndactyly, then its much more complex surgery.

Consult a plastic surgeon and discuss all issues.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
