Taking Too Many Drugs. Swings From Sparkling To Unconscious. How Do You Tell The Difference Between Physically Needing A Drug From Physically Being Over Taken By Its Strength?

I am caring for a mid-aged woman that as I find her is under the oppression of too many drugs and too much in her system. She swings from sparkling to so deeply (drugged? or unconscious) that nothing can or does arouse her. Then a few hours later she will just get up and stand up. I am on your site to enter in her meds. in an effort to lighten this ladies chances of killing herself as well take the findings to her doctors that they might/should adjust the what, how much, and how often of them. Question would be, How do you tell the difference between physically needing a drug that can help her from physically being over taken by its strength?

Hello,
This is a difficult issue to address. It is a difficult decision to make even for the most experienced doctors. It is also a very subjective issue.A person with exact similiar problem may be prescribed 10 drugs by one doctor and may be 3 by another. So its a hard choice to tell. But,if you feel that she is being overwhelmed by the strength of the drugs, the only option available may to take it back to the doctor who prescribed it in the first place. While it may be true that the strength of the drugs may be too much for her,it is also true these drugs may well be the pillars in even sustaining her life. This is not a decision that can be made online and hence its advisable for you to discuss this issue with the treating doctor.
Hope I was able to clear some of your doubts.
