Piles or "hemarrhoids" is caused by long standing constipation, overweight and irregular bowel habits. You could consider- stool softeners like Docusate sodium and Senna. Depending on type of hemarrhoid, you may benefit from steroid ointment like Hydrocortisone (Anusol). Consider adding supplemental fiber (like Benefiber or oats) to your diet.

Would recommend watching your stools- if you are constipated, recommend using Docusate sodium 100 mg twice daily. If still constipated, can add Senna 8.6mg 1-2 tablets at night. Drink plenty of water, increase intake of fiber, cut back on fatty foods. Hydrocortisone ointment is often helpful (Anusol) but requires a prescription-you could see your primary doctor for that.

Hi, you could have hemorrhoids. Treatment is stool softeners like Docusate sodium (100 mg 1-2 times/day) or Senna (8.6 mg 1-2 tablets/day), increased fiber (vegetables, pears, oats, fiber supplement). Avoid fatty foods, pain medications. Sometimes hydrocortisone ointment (Anusol) is helpful. Since these require a doctors script, recommend you see a general physician.
