Would It Be Unusual For An Issue With The Nasopharynx

would it be unusual for an issue with the nasopharynx area. I googled to find out that was the area that I have pain in. I have a bad cold, or getting over it so I have sinus issues. But I have also had pneumonia twice the most recent time was 4 years ago, the was over 10 years ago. So when I get a cold it goes immediately to my chest. I do take penicillin right away. I don't go to the doctor for that as I know the treatment, and an RN nurse friend of mine suggested fishmox antibiotics or rather keeping them on hand in the house so if someone is sick I can make the call to treat ourselves or go to the doctor. I grew up in Indonesia so this isn't uncommon for me as my mother went to the local pharmacy and yes wrote out her own script with the pad there and they filled it. 3rd world country and lets just say they aren't overly honest there. Least to say I don't use them often as I know the risk of over use, but just when needed.

There is a lump on my right side (your left) small but I can feel it. And it hurts when I swallow. At first I thought it was a sore throat from the cold, but I don't think so anymore. I don't have pain in my right ear, but actually my left bothers me a bit. I have tried the old wives tale of apple cider vinegar in the ear and that makes it feel better.

Now this is where it gets tricky. In the summer of 2011 I had a PET scan as the lest invasive way to see what a lump was that showed up on a CT scan. I lost my mother to brain cancer that april, 2 days to the date of that loss I was in the hospital for blood clot in my calf and lungs. After spontaneous internal bleeding a few months later I was sent to hematology to regulate my warfrin/coumadin (sp) When I got there she was confused as why they would send me to regulate it, but rather she focused on why I got the blood clot in the first place. I do have a half gene of factor IV leidon. One other blood test showed positive, but later at mayo they retested and came back negative I can't remember what that was anymore. The gastroenterology doctor said I was chasing rainbows, and yes that is a quote because I was 39 and people my age just don't get pancreatic cancer. I opted for the biopsy at another hospital. I had the pancreatic endocrine neoplasm cancer, the slower growing type that steve jobs had. But it was about 4x4 cm and had not spread. My doctor in mayo clinic Rochester MN didn't think it would return after surgery and I just needed surgery. No I have not kept up with twice a year CT scans.

But going back to the PET scan that I did have, it glowed in the throat area.... I was sent to an ENT and he put a tube down my nose and didn't see anything that concerned him. So now I think back to the pancreatic cancer I did have that was found more or less by accident to the glowing part in my throat. My last CT was in 2012 but I can't remember what time of the year it was, but it may have been 6 months from my January 2012 CT otherwise it was 12 months from that.

I have put my health issues on hold, sick of doctors, hospitals, blood draws, IV's and the whole 9 yards and anything related to that. A year or two ago my blood sugars were high so I was started on insulin, per mayo clinics instructions given my pancreas. Pills were not even an option. Then when I ran out of insulin I didn't go back. Now realizing my blood sugars were higher than before I did go back in to get insulin and I will keep going back for that.

But this issue with my throat is an issue, and I will bring it up to my doctor when I return. I can't help but thinking the C word.......
