Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I tripped down a couple of stairs earlier today. My ankle didn t hurt at first, so I walked a mile or so. When I arrived home, I realized that my left ankle was hurting more than before so I iced it. Now it is severely painful just lying down with my foot elevated. I can barely move it and any way the ankle lies/sits hurts. It has a kind of tingling sensation as well. What should I do? Would ibuprofen help ease the pain and swelling for the night so I can sleep?
