My Wife Has CP Secondary To A TBI @ Birth...now

my wife has CP secondary to a TBI @ birth...now 54 yrs later , she has a bone-on-bone left hip, rendering her unable to do a left leg only pivot transfer...reason given for this dx in a 125 pound 61" woman wheelchair-bound all her life is spasticity...ortho says only appropriate surgery is girdlestone procedure....I, her husband of 32 years and PT for 50+ years agree with the procedure but not the 2-3 months post-op in skeletal traction. It will not work due to spasticity...what are your thoughts...
