My Brother Who Has Chronic Lymphocyti Leukemia For Several Years

my brother who has chronic lymphocyti leukemia for several years recently had sudden abdominal pain and when taken to the ED had developed acute pancreatitis with marked elevation of amylase and lipase. He was treated with fluids, pain meds and NPO status. The next morning his enzymes were already receding but his pain and the bloating in his stomach remained. He has become increasingly short of breath and his abdominal distention is receding very slowly. Is this normal for pancreatitis or is there a connection between his CLL and the pancreatitis.
