Wound On Leg, Painful. Taken Antibiotics For Staph Infection. Swelling, Yellow Liquid Discharge. Healing?
My husband was playing softball in St. George Utah and slid to 3rd base ( he was wearing basketball shorts) This created a large open wound (raspberry) on the right leg on the outside of the calf. Within 24 - 48 hours he had a large red line going across to his inner calf and growing up towards his groin on his inner right thigh that was painful. He then was diagnosed with Staph infection and was put on antibiotics and has just taken his last pill tonight. The bad news is it is now swelling and he is in even more pain then he was in the beginning. He Pinched the swollen area and some clear yellow liquid cam out of the wound and it eased the pain a little (Temporarily). Is this healing or not? Should we take him in again as soon as possible? What could this possibly be? And how can we subdue the pain for tonight until we can take him in to the Doctors if that is what you suggest for us to do?
