Will The Unprotected Sex On Immediate Date Of Period Cause Pregnancy?

Am 34yrs. My period is inregular n my doct prescribe duphaston, 2 time a day for 10 day and i saw my period on the 8day of the tablet and finish yesterday and today i have unprotected sex. will it result to pregnancy? pls i want to know becos i dont want it now

Hallow Dear,

For pregnancy, the egg must be present to get fertilized from the sperms. Egg is released 14 days prior to the next expected menses. It has got a life only of 24 hours while the sperms are active fro 72 hours. Hence a period of about a week around the date of egg release is fertile window. Of course, this can be calculated and predicted only when the menses are regular.

Your menses are irregular. So exact day of egg release cannot be predicted. However, on the second day of the menses, egg will not be present to get fertilized. Hence, for practical purposes, unprotected sex on this day cannot cause pregnancy.
