Will The Supplement For Bladder Control Be Effective In 97 Year Old?
I have a 97 yr old mother who read about a supplement for bladder control... Healthy Control with Uroquel (pumpkin seed extract and soy germisoflavones. The recommend the use of this for 50 to 75 yr old individuals along with keel exercises. Is this of any value to her?
Hello there, For someone who is 97 years old incontinence can be an embaresing issue but it is quite common at that age. These supplements are not of any benefit according to me. They are overpriced and claim miraculous benefits without a scientific study to back them up.The key part of the advertisement is kegel exercises. The exercises are what actually will improve symptoms. The supplement is of placebo value(You mother will think the improvement in symptoms is due to her intake of the supplement but actually it is due to a positive outlook and doing kegel exercises).
Electro stimulation of the urethra using a device is another method that has given good results in incontinence. You may wish to discuss this with her doctor.
Hope this helps, Please feel free to address any further queries to me,
