Will My Regained Hair Be Permanently Curly After Chemotherapy?

I am breast cancer survivor. Got operated one and a half year ago. After that 6 cycles of chemotherapy at 3 weeks interval and after that radiation. Before i had straight hair. But after chemo when i regained them, they are curly. Its now almost more than a year has passed after last chemo cycle. My query is how long hair would remain curly or is it permanant?

Hello,
Congratulations on battling out breast cancer. What you have right now is called 'chemo curl'. Since hair is one of the fastest dividing cells of the body, chemotherapy hits it directly causing hair loss, and then later change in pattern, texture and thickness.
The good news is,while very rarely they dont, in most cases hair regains the original texture in a couple of years. Meanwhile take care of your curly hair with shampoos and serums meant for curly hair, and preserve the texture.
