Will Knee Swelling Reduce After Taking Glucosamine Tablets?

Sir , my MRI shows horizontal grade 3 tear in posterior horn and also mild joint effusion present with supra patellar plica . Limping has reduced significantly after consuming glucosamine tablets for more than a week , as prescribed by doctor. Swelling present on right side of right knee, however, decreases quite slowly. Is recovery possible without surgery?
