Will High TSH Level Affect The Fetus ?

Hi, i am pregnant and i am at 5th week of my pregnancy. i was diagnosed with hypothyroidism before the pregnancy and i was taking thyroid supplements (levothyroxine) before the pregnancy. my current dosage is 100 mcg and i have been taking it for the past 2 months . my TSH came back as 19 . is it going to affect baby development physically or mentally ?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

Your thyroid profile needs to be normal all through your pregnancy, so please speak to your doctor about the medications you need to continue maitaining a normal level of thyroid hormones. If not, then yes, it can affect the fetus's growth and development. But for now, there should be no problem with your fetus.
