Will Head And Back Pain Due To An Injury Heal?

I fell a week ago Saturday out of a 4 foot high hot tub. I was drinking very heavily. I hit my head on a wooden retaining wall. My head hurt to the touch and still does, but where my back fell onto cement, rocks and a sapling it is very bad, like bees stinging me. It feels hot to me and ripping pain. It has not gotten better at all. My head is better. I am afraid to go in because of embarrassment due to my alcoholism. Do you think that it just takes time and I will get better?

Hello. Thanks for asking from HCM.

I can understand your concern. It has been 1 week since your injury occurred, it means your injury was non-serious as you are conscious and active. It is good that your pain is gradually decreasing and you are getting better day by day.

You have to keep few points in your mind like
: check for any open wound on your body. If it is present, look for any pus discharge, swelling on it. If present, clean it and show it to doctor for dressing and wound cleaning. Antibiotics might be prescribed for 5-7days like co-amoxyclav therapy.

: Feel for injury site and if any area which is more tender than others. Examine it for skin colour like redness, swelling, any discharge, pain aggravation even on slight movement. As it could be due to infected hematoma or collection. Consult doctor. You may take painkiller like Diclofenac sodium after proper prescription.

: You can first clean your scalp and then feel whole scalp for any lump. It could be due to injury. You may apply icepacks to relieve swelling, take painkiller, avoid pressure on it.

: Maintain hygiene.

Thanks. Hope it will help you. Thanks
