Will Dehydration Lead To Severe Back Pain?

I am 47 yrs old, 5 feet tall, 110 lbs and a competing member of the US Masters diving team, so I have great flexibility and good overall health though I smoke about 10- 15 cigarettes per day. I just returned from a trip out west with various weather ( 110 in Vegas, but snowing in Bryce Canyon Utah, and about 85 in Page Arizona. I was active, but not over active. For 2-3 days I have been experiencing back, rib & leg cramping, & it became severe today after I returned to Philadelphia. Could this be from dehydration?

Yes due to dehdration you can suffer from cramping as in dehydration there is electrolytes imbalance. Pottasium from the body washed out which can cause cramping and joint pain.
So consult your family physician and take proper electrolyte supplement after his advice.
Meanwhile you can take lemon water as it is a very good source of electrolyte...
