hello Im 26 yr old female that has been positive for cdiff 5 times... I started taking Dificid at 6pm this evening I am in so much pain I work in the hospital and I am about to go down to ER but everytime I go they admit me and cant take time off work... So today was my first dose at 1130 i was throwing up now i want nothing to drink or to even move is that a side affect of this new drug????? they are also making me take it twice a day for ten days before my fecal transplant.... But if it feels like this i feel like someone is twisting my inteastens out from me and stabing them as also as tieing them up please help !!
Hi, Dificid (fidaxomicin) causes vomiting and abdominal pain and they are common side effects. You might be knowing that dificid intake is associated with low risk of recurrence. So your side effects needs to be taken care of symptomatically. If side effects are severe, you can ask your gastroenterologist about options for interrupting the regimen.
