Will A Pneumonia- And AFIB-diagnosed Patient Be Taken Off Blood Thinners Eventually?

I have just been diagnosed with pneumonia and AFIB simultaneously and I am being treated for both - Warferin and antibiotics. I am 86 years old - excellent blood pressure - no diabetes - will I be able to get off the blood thinner eventually? My heart rate continues to improve and I will have an ECHO next week

Hi,
Thanks for your question.
I do understand your pain and discomfort.
As per your history is concerned you are taking right medications. You need Anticoagulant regularly as you have AFIB.As per doctors advise do ECHO but every month do an ECG to monitor your heart.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
