Hello,

Apparently your doctor did not explain the reason for prescribing an oral contraceptive such as Ovral L. It is my my assumption that the reason for the prescription is more the regulation of the hormonal cycle, rather than a pregnancy prevention. Hence, the fact that you did not have any intercourse during these 3 months is not very important in this case.
I am sure your doctor, being informed on your medical history, made the right decision to give you this prescription. However, for future reference, it is always good to ask and be informed, in order to get a better understanding of you health.

Wishing you all the best
