Why My 20 Month Old Does Not Speak?

Hi, Im J, ,.ine, My son is 20 months old now and does not speak. Only words he utters are "Mamma" and "Papa". He sometimes babbles but when ever we try to make him speak, he tries finding other distractions and avoids speaking. He yells, responds to his name, understands and obey basic commands. Hearing is completely fine. Have come across many children younger than him who speak almost 80-100 words. Note: He was born at 34 weeks 6days., we live in a joint family and he is exposed to three different languages - Hindi, English & Malayalam.
Thanks for your help !!

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi, thanks for asking.
I can understand your concerns.
At 20 months if her is speaking only 2-3 words with meaning then it is definitely
speech delay.
How is his non verbal communication? Does he sign anything to get things or tell you something?
In my opinion it seems to be a expressive language delay. Speech therapy will definitely help him.
