Why Lacrimal Caruncle Is Hurting While Rubbing Eyes And Sensitive While Blinking?
I noticed this morning my Lacrimal Car-uncle was hurting when I rubbed my eye today. It has gotten more painful throughout the day and it is sensitive when I blink. The gland is a little red and inflamed but not too bad. Was wondering if you could help out to find out what is wrong?
Hello It seems from the history that you are having inflammation of caruncle called as carcunculitis. Because of this inflammation you are having symptoms of pain and redness. The treatment is by using anti-inflammatory drugs both in the form of eye drops and oral tablets. Non responsive cases may require use of steroid eye drops under supervision of your eye doctor.
Thank you
