Why Is My Knee Joint Stiff And Makes It Difficult For My Leg To Straighten?
Hi, about 5 months ago I was jumping on a trampoline and I landed awkward on my leg. I began limping and it hurt on the back side of my knee. It never did swell up but I could not straighten my leg straight out (my knee would look bent some) and it felt sore and stiff. It still bothers me when I sit down for a while and when I get up and began walking my leg is stiff and I limp a little. What could be my problem?
You have apparently ruptured/torn a ligament of the knee joint, due to which you continue to have problems.
The problems will continue until the injured ligament is given adequate rest to the knee to facilitate complete healing, provided it is a minor rupture. In case, of a possible major injury to the ligament, you should consult an Orthopedic surgeon who will examine your knee, get an MRI done to evaluate the degree of damage and advise specific treatment.
