Hi,

TIFFA expands as targeted imaging for fetal anomalies. It is done in second trimester between 18- 20 weeks of pregnancy. These are the objectives of the scan:
1) For detailed anatomical evaluation of the fetus
2) To find out any anomalies in fetus
3) To identify any severe and lethal anomalies if present
4) To identify anomalies regarding spine, brain, internal organs of abdomen and pelvis.
It is a very important scan and please have it done without any hesitation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Pallavi M., Anesthesiologist
