Why Is Propranolol Prescribed For A Skipped Heart Beat?

I have had a skipped heartbeat Years ago. The doctor took an electrocardiograph and saw it on the resulting printout. He started me on propranolol and this stopped it very quickly. I am still on this medication. The doctor gave a name to my problem, but I cannot recall the name. Would you know what it is?

Hello,

Propranolol is a beta-blocker.

Beta-blockers affect the heart and circulation.

This medication is used to control irregular heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and to relieve chest pain caused by angina.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
