Why Is Azithromycin Prescribed For The Treatment Of Bronchitis?

..i was just ordered and picked up azithromycin tablets...2 right now and rest of week take 1...there are 6 tablets... if antibiotics do not help..why did Doctor order this for me... he diagnosed me having an infection / for acute bronchitis after he examined me...how serious is this?

Good day and thank you for posting this question. Acute bronchitis is not so serious once you complete your medication, azithromycin. Acute bronchitis is either caused by a bacteria or virus. And Azithromycin is an antibiotic to treat infection.
